We are updating the myID app so it is supported only on devices running Android 11 or later.
If you want to download myID
From 30 July 2026, you may not be able to download the myID app on a device running Android 8, 9 or 10. You'll need a device running Android 11 or later to set up myID.
If you already use myID on an older device
If the myID app is already installed on a device running Android 8, 9 or 10, you can keep using it until 4 September 2026. After that date, you'll need a device running Android 11 or later to keep using myID to prove who you are online.
Why we’re making this change
This change helps keep your information safe.
Devices running Android 10 or earlier no longer receive security updates. To maintain the security of your information, the myID app will only be supported on devices running Android 11 or later.
What you need to do
- Check which version of Android your device uses. You'll usually find this in your device settings under 'About phone' or 'System'.
- See if your device can update to Android 11 or later.
- If it can, update your device before 4 September 2026.
- If it can't update to Android 11 or later, you'll need a newer device to keep using the myID app.
